Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival

Ottawa’s free annual Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival returns to Wesley Clover Parks for a weekend of culture, performances, food, and community to mark National Indigenous History Month. This year’s highlights include an International Competition Pow Wow with host drum Sacred Flight, the debut of a Smoke Dance category, a Glow-in-the-Dark Pow Wow, and a spectacular drone show. Visitors can also enjoy Indigenous foods, axe throwing, Inuit Games, a mechanical bull, visits with Ojibwe Spirit Horses, and shopping at an Indigenous Marketplace with over 75 vendors. Admission is free and parking on site is $10 with pre-purchase recommended; the festival spans nearly 500 acres at Wesley Clover Parks with covered pavilion space. This is a family-friendly event suitable for all ages and ideal for visitors wanting to connect with Indigenous cultures, food, and performance. Event details can change, so verify with the organizer before attending.
