Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival

North America’s largest dragon boat festival returns to Mooney’s Bay on the Rideau River with three days of racing, community, food, and entertainment for participants and spectators alike. Teams of 20 paddlers guided by a drummer and steersperson race 500m heats on Saturday June 20, with the top teams advancing to 100m, 200m, and 500m Grand Finals on Sunday June 21. Spectators enjoy free admission throughout the weekend and can enjoy a beach-side bar, local artisans, food vendors, and a large children’s playground at Mooney’s Bay Park. New 2026 challenge divisions include Building and Development Women, the Panda Cup for local and visiting teams, and a Come From Away category for out-of-town competitors.
